Monitoring the Housing Market
By Chris Ashworth of Competitive Advantage.
In last week's Construction News, Nick Whitten's article started "Have we hit the bottom of the housing slump?". He was referring to the more than 50% rise in buyer enquiries and the fact that Glenigan show a slight pick-up in planning approvals. He concluded by saying that "Activity
is going to return to the sector, but no one knows exactly when."
To help you identify this upturn, and what is driving it, why not purchase Competitive
Advantage's report "Housebuilder Watch". We will shortly be conducting the April
survey when we will interview 100 private developers, 50 RSLs and conduct in-depth
interviews with 10 organisations who have recently received planning approval for
housing developments.
This research will give you vital information about developments in the housing
market including:
- How the level of Starts have changed since the last quarter and are expected to change in the next quarter.
- If Sales will be ahead or behind Starts in the next quarter
- Factors influencing these views
- Level of enquiries
- The proportion of Social Housing in private developments
- Proportion of homes built to Level 3 and above of the Code for Sustainable Homes
- Different dwelling types making up the proportion of Starts and how the mix is expected to change
- Proportion of new homes constructed from timber and steel frame
The cost of this report is just £300 + VAT, or £250 + VAT if you take out a 12 month
subscription. For more details or to subscribe go to www.cadvantage.co.uk/housing.htm.
As an additional service, you can have a short question of your own included in
the survey and reported exclusively to you for a cost of only £300 + VAT. This facility
is limited to just a few questions on a first come first serve basis.
To see a copy of the research questionnaire, order the report or request a question
just email me at info@cadvantage.co.uk.
Make sure you don't miss the first shoots of recovery in the housing market.
