Use Voicemail Effectively
Voicemails and answerphones are an occupational hazard when it comes to telephone work in any industry – and construction is no exception. Many people don’t like leaving messages and view voicemails in a negative way. They’re certainly an unavoidable part of business development – but they can be used to your advantage. It’s well worth working out a little 15-20 second script to use to leave a very positive, attractive message and plant some real benefit seeds when your contact is out.
Something like:
“Good morning Mr Scott ... this is David Crick from Broadway Construction in Langley. Sorry to miss you, appreciate you’re busy. Would very much appreciate a moment or two to ask about your new industrial unit project in Ruislip when you have a moment. Very much the type of work we specialise in and for which we offer exceptional service ... I’ll try a call back later this afternoon or you can catch me on ...................... Look forward to speaking soon ........ “
